Join the Greenkeeping Experience of a Lifetime at TPC Sawgrass
Each year John Deere, in association with the British & International Golf Greenkeepers Association and the Association of Turfgrass Professionals Ireland (ATPI), sends seven association members to join the agronomy team on the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass for the duration of the Players Championship - the unofficial fifth men’s major tournament.
There are places on this volunteer programme for six BIGGA members - one from each UK region and one from overseas - plus one person from ATPI. Previous participants have described the experience as life changing and overwhelming.
The successful candidates will get an all-expenses paid opportunity to gain valuable experience by being part of a large GreenKeeping team. They will witness first-hand what goes into the preparation of a major tournament as they work alongside Greenkeepers from all over the world at the PGA Tour’s flagship event.
A John Deere representative travels with the BIGGA/ATPI group to TPC Sawgrass. Return travel to the US, accommodation, subsistence and uniform costs are all covered by John Deere.
“It has helped me improve as a person and in my profession, by helping me move forwards with my career.” Said Eddie Irvine of Trump International Golf Links.
application deadline is 31/5/23
