Double A assist The Ecology Centre
Recently, Double A donated a used John Deere lawn tractor and loaned a tractor and loader to help the amazing volunteers at The Ecology Centre.
The Ecology Centre is located on the shoreline of Kinghorn Loch. For many years they have managed a 10 acre site with the help of a small site team and groups of volunteers, many who have additional support needs, such as Autism and Dementia.
The community accessible woodlands, and especially the well used footpath called "treetops" had fallen into disrepair. This project involved moving 20 tonnes of pathing aggregate to a difficult to access area of the site. Previously this would have been completed by teams moving wheelbarrow loads and this project would have taken months to complete.
“The ride on lawn tractor will not only allow us to maintain our grassed areas more efficiently, but will also allow us to move materials around the site. The Ecology Centre are so grateful for the loan of equipment that made it possible to complete this task in two days. Our staff team most certainly appreciate a break from the back breaking work.” Said Lee Brown, Estate and Operation Manager at The Ecology Centre.
