2019 Solheim Cup Gleneagles, 9th September – 15th September 2019

Preparation is in full swing as the 2019 Solheim Cup edges closer.

The PGA Centenary Course (created by Jack Nicklaus) will see the European team led by Captain Catriona Matthew, take on team USA led by Captain Juli Inkster. Catriona and team Europe will be looking to stop Juli on becoming the first captain to three-peat since the inaugural cup was held back in 1990. As the USA have won the last two competitions, team Europe will be focused on bringing the cup back to European soil.

Since its opening in the early 1990’s, initially known as The Monarch’s and renamed in 2001 to commemorate the PGAs Centenary year. The PGA Centenary Course has grown in reputation as a modern classic and gained worldwide attention whilst hosting the 2014 Ryder Cup. It becomes the first European course to host both the Solheim and Ryder Cups. The par 72 layout of the course has evolved over the years and provides various challenges. With each hole having five sets of tees the yardages can vary, 5,322 from the red up to 7,296 from the blue. With a host of spectacular views this course is definitely one for the bucket list.
