Dumbarnie Golf Links
Dumbarnie Links, Scotland’s newest links golf course, crafted by former Ryder Cup player Clive Clark, is expected to open for play in 2020. The course, located in Fife along the north shore of the Firth of Forth, is built upon land that is part of the historic Balcarres Estate. It is 345 acres of genuine sandy links.
With the scene set to build and deliver another jewel in the crown on Scotland’s golf landscape the challenge was set to find a machinery supplier and dealer who could meet this challenge, supporting the build through the grow-in phase to completion whilst looking ahead to a long term relationship delivering a package fit for a world class course producing the highest standards in golf at all times.
Not only was there a requirement for a fleet of cutting-edge machinery but also for an equipment provider with passion, attention-to-detail and outstanding customer service. Where nothing but the best would be accepted, a partner who had the resources experience and staff to deliver on Dumbarnie’s high expectations.
Enter John Deere and Double A.
After many meetings and mutual discussions, a plan was drawn up, actions agreed and a new partnership forged to supply machines, back up service and direct support to Dumbarnie Golf Links.
Equipment was delivered for the full grow in program with a further fleet of machines installed for the final phase of the golf course construction through to the official opening.
Machines supplied were a full range and not limited to but including John Deere Utility Vehicles, Rough Mowers, Fairway Mowers, Greens Triplex Mowers (the latest John Deere 2750E released in 2020) along with state of the art, industry leading technology in the shape of John Deere’s GPS Spraying Equipment.

Dumbarnie Links is looking to produce high quality playing surfaces for all our customers to enjoy. I believe the quality of John Deere equipment matches our own high standards, allowing us to work successfully together.
The Double A team have been excellent support for Dumbarnie during the grow-in phase of the project. We were supplied with a grow-in fleet of mowers which has been a great help to us. Their proximity of nine miles from our property means back-up support has been second to none.
Further comments on the Tru-Turf roller (of which Double A are the sole importers for the UK and Europe market) which is fully endorsed by the PGA…
The R50 is now wider at 50 inches and has the overlapping heads, this allows us to roll the surfaces more efficiently, also the nodules on the rollers are a great help at keeping the surfaces free of any debris.
Double A are proud to have this unique partnership with the golf course and would like to congratulate Grahame and Dumbarnie Golf Links on their achievements so far with the course already creating a storm in the golf world with many accolades coming their way already ahead of the grand opening in 2020.
